Welcome to Midwife Data Community! This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our medical professional data record-keeping application. By using our App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
1. Introduction
At Bruntz Creative, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our medical professional data record-keeping application. By using our App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms outlined here, please refrain from using our App.
This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with applicable privacy laws including the Privacy Act 1988 (Australia), GDPR, and other relevant data protection regulations.
2. Information We Collect
Data You Provide
The primary data collected by our App is the professional information you enter for record-keeping purposes. This data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted format using AES-256 encryption. We do not access, use, or view this data for any purpose other than providing the core functionality of the app.
Authentication Data
We use Firebase Authentication for user account creation and login. This involves collecting your username and password. If you choose to enable two-factor authentication (2FA), your phone number will be collected and used solely for 2FA purposes. Firebase Authentication is GDPR-compliant and follows industry security standards.
Anonymous Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage data through Sentry to improve app stability, identify bugs, and understand user behavior. This data may include non-personally identifiable information such as:
- Device type
- App version
- Operating system
- Crash logs
- Error information
- Performance metrics
Important: This data does not contain any personally identifiable information (PII) or patient data and cannot be used to track individual users or identify specific records.
Error Reporting
Sentry is used specifically for reporting app crashes and errors. This helps us identify and resolve technical issues to improve the app’s stability and performance. Error reports are completely anonymized and do not contain any patient data or personal information.
Opt-Out Option: Error reporting is enabled by default but can be disabled in the app settings. However, please note that disabling this feature may limit our ability to improve the app and address technical issues effectively.
3. How We Use Your Information
Providing App Functionality
The professional data you enter into the app is used solely to provide the core record-keeping functionality and remains on your device.
Authentication and Security
Your username and password are used to authenticate your access to the app and protect your data. Your phone number (if provided for 2FA) is used solely for two-factor authentication security purposes.
App Improvement
Anonymized usage data collected through Sentry helps us:
- Identify and fix technical issues
- Improve app performance and stability
- Monitor application health
- Enhance user experience through bug fixes and performance improvements
We do not use this data for any other purposes, including marketing, advertising, or commercial activities.
4. Data Security
Encryption
All data stored locally on your device is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption to protect it from unauthorized access.
Data Access
We do not access, use, or view the professional data you enter into the app. Your data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including:
- Secure authentication processes
- Encrypted data storage
- Regular security updates
- Limited data collection practices
5. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third-party services only to the extent necessary for their intended functionality:
Firebase Authentication
We use Google’s Firebase platform for user authentication. Firebase processes your login credentials and optional phone number for 2FA. Please refer to:
Sentry
We use Sentry for error monitoring and app performance tracking. Sentry helps us identify, track, and fix bugs and performance issues. When the app encounters an error, Sentry collects technical information such as:
- Error details and stack traces
- Device information (type, operating system)
- App version
- Crash reports
Sentry does not collect personal information, patient data, or any professionally sensitive information from your app usage. All data sent to Sentry is anonymized. For more information about Sentry’s data practices, please visit Sentry’s Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
Local Data
Your professional data is stored locally on your device and remains there until you delete the app or manually clear the app data. We do not have the capability to remotely delete data stored locally on your device.
Authentication Data
We retain your authentication data for as long as you maintain an active account. When you choose to delete your account through the app settings, your authentication data (including username, password, and any 2FA phone numbers) will be permanently removed from Firebase systems within 30 days of your deletion request.
Error Reporting Data
Error reporting data in Sentry is retained for a limited period necessary to diagnose and fix issues (typically 90 days), after which it is automatically deleted.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Account Management and Deletion
You have full control over your account and can:
Delete Your Account: You may permanently delete your account at any time through the App settings. When you choose to delete your account:
- Your authentication data (username, password, and 2FA phone number) will be permanently removed from our Firebase authentication system within 30 days of your deletion request
- The deletion process is irreversible and cannot be undone once the 30-day processing period is complete
- You will lose access to your account permanently
- Any local data on your device will remain until you manually delete the app or clear app data
Important: Account deletion only removes your authentication data from our cloud systems. Your professional data stored locally on your device is not affected by account deletion and must be managed separately through your device settings.
Data Control
Since your professional data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it. You can:
- Access all your data within the app
- Export or backup your data
- Delete your data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data through your device settings
Error Reporting Opt-Out
You can disable error reporting in the app settings at any time. This will prevent future error reports from being sent to Sentry, though previously collected anonymized error data may remain in Sentry’s systems according to their retention policy.
Data Portability
You can export your local data at any time through the app’s backup functionality before account deletion if desired.
8. Professional and Legal Compliance
Your Responsibilities
As a medical professional, you are responsible for:

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
10. International Data Transfers
Your authentication data may be processed by Firebase in various countries where Google operates data centers. Google implements appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
Your professional data remains on your device and is not transferred internationally.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification. Any changes will also be posted within the app. Your continued use of the App following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
12. Contact Us
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, or need assistance with account deletion, please contact us at: Email: bruntzcreative@gmail.com
